Welcome, welcome!

New members, welcome! Returing members, welcome back to our 59th season!

Our summer camps concluded with two exciting and well attended concerts. It was amazing to see what these talented musicians can accomplish in just one week, and we can't wait to see what they can do in the upcoming season. Here is a photo gallery of the day camp for Prelude, Intermezzo and the Chamber Orchestra, and photos from the overnight camp for the Philharmonic, Concert Orchestra, Flute Choir and Concert Wind Ensemble.

We venture into Germany for our final performance in Munich. Tour dates are June 23rd – July 6th, 2011. For more information on the upcoming and past tours, please visit here.

Welcome to the cyberspace of Silicon Valley’s finest and oldest youth orchestra – the San Jose Youth Symphony (SJYS). For over half a century, SJYS has been providing the talented youth of our community with exceptional music education and performance opportunities. We believe in the existence of musical talent in every individual. Our goal is to nurture this gift and develop it, while inspiring our musicians to fill their lives with the joy of music.

Our program is designed to provide young musicians of any age and at any musical level with a comprehensive musical education. In addition to weekly rehearsals with SJYS’ distinguished artistic faculty, our musicians benefit from regular sectional rehearsals, and master classes presented by top musicians from the greater Bay Area. Through our numerous collaborations with world renowned soloists as well as other Arts groups of local, national and international acclaim, and through international concert tours, solo competitions, and a chamber music program, our members receive a complete music education of superior quality.
