San Jose Youth Symphony 2009 International Concert Tour: South America

This international tour to Chile and Argentina was a first for SJYS in its 56-year history! The tour was a 15-day custom performance tour. The tour began in San Francisco traveling to Santiago de Chile, Chile where we visited La Moneda Palace, the Plaze de Armas, the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino, the colonial Iglesia de San Francisco and the gardens.

Then on to Mendoza, Cordoba and Rosario, Argentina for guided tours and sight seeing. In Buenos Aires we toured the Plaza de Mayo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Congress Hall and the fashionable Recoleta area.

Throughout the tour San Jose Youth Symphony performed 5 concerts at musically and culturally significant venues such as Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile, Teatro Municipal in Mendoza, Grand Teatro in Cordoba, Teatro El Circulo in Rosario and Facultad de Derecho of the University of Buenos Aires.
