The Prelude String Ensemble provides a high quality introduction to important concepts of performing in an ensemble. Members will apply their technical knowledge of how to play their instrument to string orchestra literature, learn orchestra rehearsal techniques, learn musical terms, and understand basic music theory. Instruction includes understanding the role of the conductor, and learning to follow the conductor.
Welcome Marcella
Ms. Marcella Schantz will join us as the conductor of the Prelude String Ensemble. Marcella has extensive experiences as a musician and educator. We are looking forward for an exciting season under her leadership. Please join us and welcome her to SJYS.

Concerts
The Prelude String Ensemble performs three concerts per year at the Jewish Community Center Silicon Valley (map). Admission to the concerts is free.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held every Monday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Los Gatos United Methodist Church.
