SJYS comprises 12 different orchestras and  instrumental ensembles and orchestras as follows:

• The Philharmonic Orchestra (SJYS’s premier, advanced full orchestra)
• The Chamber Orchestra (premier, advanced group consisting of strings, woodwinds and some brass);
• The Concert Orchestra (intermediate full orchestra);
• The Avant &  Avancé Flute Choirs (intermediate & advanced musicians);
• The Jazz Ensemble;
• The Concert Winds & Saxophone Ensembles;
• The Percussion Ensemble;
• The Harp Ensemble; and
• The Prelude and Intermezzo String Ensembles (beginning and intermediate groups, respectively);
